How do optional activities work (wildlife cruises, theatre, etc.)?
They’re own expense and seasonal. Your guide shares timings/costs on tour and helps with sign-ups.
How much luggage can I bring?
Pack light and soft: one main bag/duffel plus a daypack. For the 18-day, the internal flight has standard airline checked-baggage limits.
When can I see icebergs and puffins?
Icebergs are most likely May–June (Twillingate area varies year to year). Puffins are commonly seen May–August near Elliston.
What’s the Western Brook Pond day like?
An easy boardwalk to the dock, then a fjord-style boat cruise beneath cliffs and waterfalls. It’s cooler on deck—bring a warm layer and shell.
What’s the weather like?
Atlantic conditions change fast—expect wind, fog, and quick showers even in summer. Layers + a waterproof are essential.
Will I have phone signal or Wi-Fi?
Reliable in/near towns; patchy on remote coasts and within Gros Morne. Hotel Wi-Fi is common but can be slower in smaller communities.
Is wildlife viewing guaranteed?
No. Whale and seabird sightings are seasonal and weather-dependent. Keep very safe distances and follow your guide’s instructions at all times.
Is travel insurance required—and do I need an eTA/visa?
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Depending on your passport, you may need an eTA/visa for Canada—check before booking flights.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes—weather, ferry schedules, park advisories, or road conditions can prompt adjustments. Changes keep the trip’s spirit intact while prioritising safety and experience.
What’s not included that I should budget for?
Flights to/from the start/end cities (except the Halifax → St John’s internal flight on the 18-day), optional activities, meals/snacks not listed, personal drinks (alcohol is BYO), personal gear, laundry, souvenirs, and tips (at your discretion).
