What type of vehicle is used?
An air-conditioned mini-coach for the coastal route, plus a guided 4WD vehicle on K’gari (Fraser Island). Beach driving is tide-timed, so that day may be re-sequenced to suit conditions.
Are national park fees and listed activities included?
Yes—all listed park entries and guided experiences are included, including the wildlife park, Hunter Valley tastings, Koala Hospital visit, Gumbaynggirr cultural experience, Cape Byron Lighthouse, Noosa National Park, and the K’gari 4WD day.
What meals are included?
6 breakfasts, 1 lunch (K’gari day) and 1 dinner (Sydney welcome). Other meals are pay-as-you-go so you can explore local cafés and restaurants.
Can dietary needs be accommodated?
Generally yes—advise requirements at booking so the operator can plan ahead.
How much luggage can I bring?
Space is limited: 1 × 20 kg bag plus 1 × 5 kg day pack. Soft bags/duffels fit best.
What are the age limits?
Minimum age 12 (12–17s must travel with a parent/guardian). Not suitable for infants or young children 11 and under.
Is this tour suitable for mobility-impaired travellers?
Unfortunately no. Guests should be able to walk unaided on short tracks, steps and sandy surfaces.
Do I need to be a confident swimmer?
No. Ocean swims and lake swims on K’gari are optional. Always follow lifeguard/local advice and swim between the flags at patrolled beaches.
Is travel insurance required?
Strongly recommended for medical, cancellation and disruption coverage. Bring your policy details and emergency contact.
Will there be free time?
Yes—most days include breaks, and Day 5 in Byron Bay is a free day for optional activities (surfing, kayaking with dolphins, whale watching in season, hot-air ballooning, brewery visits).
What about Wi-Fi and phone coverage?
Hotels typically offer Wi-Fi. Coverage can be patchy on K’gari and on some coastal stretches; download playlists and offline maps in advance.
How do changes due to weather work?
Safety first. The operator may adjust timings or re-sequence activities (especially the K’gari beach-driving day) in response to tides, park notices or weather.
What’s not included?
Meals not listed above, optional activities (e.g., Byron surf/kayak/ballooning, seasonal whale watching), pre/post-tour transfers and stays, personal expenses, and flights.
